The same colour looks different on different nail shapes: fingers can look longer, neater or bolder. Here are the five most common shapes, which hand types they suit and which last best for busy hands.

Matching shape to your hands

  • Short fingers: oval or almond make them look longer.
  • Long, slim fingers: almost any shape; square and squoval look modern.
  • Wide nail beds: oval narrows the look.
  • Narrow nail beds: squoval balances the proportions.

A quick test: the tip often looks best when it mirrors the shape of your nail base. If you type a lot or do housework, choose round, oval or squoval at fingertip length.

The Korean approach

Korean nails favour short to medium length, soft curves and thin, even tips, checked from above and from the side. At VESSCA, shaping is part of cuticle care (hands 60,000₫, feet 70,000₫). Changing shape is best done gradually over one or two visits rather than filing hard in one session.

VESSCA is at 251/30 Le Quang Dinh, Gia Dinh ward (Binh Thanh), Ho Chi Minh City, open 9:00–20:30 daily.
